Third basketball game of the season for #mywarrior ~ so proud #10 #perseverance #teamwork #basketball
I’m excited to share the first of our two new Board of Directors. Welcome Rebecca Lacey! Rebecca comes to us with a background in Real Estate (for over 15 years) focusing on Lake Placid Vacation Rentals and Customer Service. “I learned about Hope for Miracles through Karson, who is best friends with my son Alec. The first time I met Karson I was impressed at what a truly amazing person he is. Not only is he kind, and beyond polite, but also one of the bravest children I know. Over time I became friends with Holly who is truly an inspiration. When my son Alec was six, he was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia and spent a few weeks in the hospital initially then we had to go multiple times a week for almost a year. I will never forget that experience and the children and staff we met along the way. Every time he had bloodwork done; I was scared because the results always came back as mild Leukemia because some of the symptoms are similar to Aplastic Anemia. I understand what it’s like to have a child who is sick; the fear and the need to help. I was inspired when I found out that the Holly created Hope for Miracles to help children battling cancer. I feel blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of this organization that is focused on funding childhood cancer research.” As a nonprofit, our goal has always been to bring awareness to our cause of supporting children and families who are given a childhood cancer diagnosis. Having experienced this plight firsthand, we feel it is so important to be a resource as well as an advocate. Along with this comes the responsibility of partnering with local organizations to raise our visibility and share in a common goal of community. We are excited to announce we have become a member of the North Country Chamber of Commerce. Alone we can only do so much, but together with other agencies, resources and organizations, we can do great things. We can make miracles happen.
#ThrowbackThursday ~ Let’s choose to see the roses
Today is National Childhood Cancer Day.
We fight #becauseofKarson and for those like him. The global incidence of childhood cancer is increasing, and sadly, as much as 80% of childhood cancer is diagnosed too late for treatment ~ or the treatment doesn’t exist. 90,000 children will die this year. . . #wemustdobetter Karson is one of the fortunate ones. He will carry the scars from his battle, but he is here; he is healthy. We are blessed. But what about all of the others? #howwillyouhelp? 99% of funds raised through Hope for Miracles will go directly to childhood cancer research ~ research for lifesaving cures and treatments. We appreciate your support.
Happy Valentine’s Day from this little cutie

It’s been my vision for over two years now to add a new branch to Hope for Miracles.. Of course we will always fundraise for research ~ it’s the only way to find a cure. But I’ve had this longing to help more. To help families right here. Let’s face it, the number of children being diagnosed with cancer is rising and just through UVM they will see over 30 families this year. 30 children… I’ll never forget how terrified and lost we were, each time, and we went through this diagnosis three times. Three times and I’m still learning of services that were out there that I had no idea about. I want to be that person to help these families. To guide them; be their contact and follow them through their journey; be an emotional support as another who knows exactly what they are going through; help in any way I can. I’m going to dig deep and find contacts to see what is available - coordinate and search for partners to lower costs, and research grants for funding. But I can’t do it alone... Here's how you can help. First thing ~ Start by sharing the services you know of, or those who you think might be of service. Share this post. Share, share and share ~ and reach out if you have anything to share that will help. Alone, I can only do so much. But together - together we can do great things! We can make miracles happen! Thank you for your continued support Karson couldn’t wait for #tacotuesday and he couldn’t wait to beat me at bowling.
#mywarrior #family #tacosarentjustfortuesdays And don’t forget to get your raffle tickets to surprise that special someone with ~ you get to help out Karson and those like him in the process. #winwin Today, on World Cancer Day, take a moment to remember those you know/have known ~ The survivors, those fighting, those lost and their families. Take a moment to offer up a prayer or a wish in their honor. Add an extra one that we see an end to this suffering in our lifetime.
For all of you who support us, we truly wouldn't be where we are today without you. Never doubt your capacity to change the world, one small act of kindness and support at a time. We love you all. Let's remember that when we choose to come together; when we collectively take action ~ We CAN make a difference. We CAN and ARE making a healthier and brighter world for children with cancer, one research trial at a time... Will you join us? All of us have been affected by cancer in some way. In honor of World Cancer Day, take action; help us in raising awareness and research by sharing and donating. Karson and other children like him are my why... What's yours? "Never give up. Never give in." ~ Unknown #worldcancerday #2023 #gogold #childhoodcancer #childhoodcancerawareness #galaofmiracles #karsonstrong #teamkarson #MakeAWish, #becauseofkarson #fuckcancer #beatthe4% #wemustdobetterthanthis #hopeformiracles #neuroblastoma #neuroblastomaresearch #mskkids #msk #uvmchildrenshospital #Godisgreat #theprotoncenter #wheredidyouseeGodtoday #allthewarriors #togetherwecanmakeadifference Thank you Copper Rooster Floral & Gifts
Stop in and see their beautiful selection of flowers and gifts We’ve had some questions about how the raffle tickets work and we want to make sure that everything is clear. When you purchase a ticket, whether in person or via donation through social media, we will write your name and phone number on the ticket and keep it to put in the drawing. There is no ticket number. We thought it was easier to draw a name and just be able to phone the winner and not have to put out a ticket number for someone to claim.
If you do not want to donate via social media for your ticket we do have ticket sales in most areas, just reach out and we will make sure someone can meet you for your tickets. We appreciate your support! |
